Hi,
at the end of the 19th century the nearby place of SCHMITTEN IM TAUNUS was crowded with people working as a NAGELSCHMIED. NAGLER = NAGELSCHMIED. See this entry dealing with the beforesaid profession and both places: https://books.google.de/books?id=cTn...chmied&f=false Geändert von katrinkasper (28.08.2017 um 08:07 Uhr) |

Zitat:
In the book, Arnoldshain is called a Nagler village, because it was full of them. That is, because there were many iron ore mines in the region. In the mines there wasn't much iron ore, but it was enough to make nails. The hand made iron nails - up to one feet long - were used to build structures or to lay tracks. The history of mining in the region Taunus began many hundred years ago.
