where did you get your information from? I found a marriage for Annie Ritchley 2nd Q 1893, spouse William Fanan ( Fannan), in Whitechapel district. In census 1891 the only person to match is Annie Ritchlep, servant at 72 Bishops Road, Paddington. She was born abt 1863 in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. There is no result for a Germany-born surname rit* YOB 1863 +-1 in the 1891 census.

Hi,

Having read the direct translation into German, you are right, it did sound ridiculous! So I shall write this one in English.

I got the info from England Census' mainly. On one England Census (cannot remember which year) her birth place is listed as Berlin so I am really after a birth certificate for her.

In regard to her Maiden Name, these are some of the possible German ones I have : Rietchel, Dau, and Rittchlau.

My situation is a bit confusing as some of their children are listed as being born in London, then others are listed as being born in Berlin, then London again, then Berlin so it appears they may have been back and forth between Germany and England.

Maybee in their birth-census you can in berlin details for the mother, the right written name or where she came from. Their parents married in London, are in the papers of the marriage no details of her family, her parents, ...?

Sorry I was getting confused with another family that I thought may be mine.

They actually only had three children and they were all born in London.

However, I believe her father may have been named Henrich or Heinrich Ritchley or its German counterpart. Would that be of any use?
